Error: "The format of this file is not supported." When Uploading a WAV File in the Media Prompt

Overview

When uploading a .wav file in the Media Prompt, the following error message is presented below.

The format of this file is not supported. Please select a file of less than 15 MB in one of the following supported .wav formats:
- OKI ADPCM (6 kHz 4 bits / 8 kHz 4 bits)
- G.711 (A/μ-Law: 6 kHz 8 bits / 8 kHz 8 bits)
- Linear PCM (8 kHz 8 bits / 8 kHz 16 bits / 11 kHz 8 bits / 16 kHz 16 bits)
Please check your file and try again.

Process

  1. Download and install MediaInfo, a convenient unified display of the most relevant technical and tag data for video and audio files.
  2. Open MediaInfo.
  3. Click on < Click here to select file >.

  4. Browse to the location of the appropriate file and click Open.

  5. Inspect the Format, Sampling Rate, and Bit Depth to ensure they are compliant with VoltDelta requirements.

    NOTE: The requirements are presented in the error message above.

  6. Press OK when done.

    NOTE: If the details do not match the information required in VoltDelta, you will not be able to upload the .wav file. Use your preferred third-party tool to convert the file to match the requirements.
